Tehran, Monday, 15 December 22, 2025
The opening ceremony of the first cultural workshop, ‘Sulat Natin’ (Our Writing) – centered on the ancient Baybayin script of the Philippines – was attended by Dr. Nasser Al-Mutairi, Secretary-General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) and Deputy Secretary-General, Dr. Jafari Malak, Chairman of the Cultural Coordination Center of the ACD, and a number of ambassadors and diplomats from ACD member states, and became a prominent scene of cultural diplomacy and Asian integration.
The ‘Sulat Natin’ (Our Writing), which is dedicated to teaching and introducing the ancient Baybayin script, was introduced as the first educational program of the Cultural Coordination Center of ACD in the field of Art, marking a successful example of the connection between ancient and contemporary cultural heritage; an initiative that plays a key role in preserving historical continuity, strengthening cultural identity, and transmitting common values to future generations.
As a matter of fact, this event once again highlighted the position of the CCCACD as the hub of Asian cultural diplomacy and the driving force of cultural interactions among the nations of the old continent, making it a center that has turned art and heritage into the common language of Asian dialogue.
The ceremonial program began with a brief speech by Dr. Mohammad Jafari Malak, who expressed his appreciation for the support of the Secretary General of ACD and the active participation of ambassadors and diplomatic missions, and emphasized the future plans of the center, saying:
“We hope that, by introducing their artists and cultural heritage, the member countries will play a more active role in organizing such courses. And Asian cultural and artistic exhibitions and events will be organized with the extensive support of the ACD Secretariat.”
Dr. Naser Al-Mutairi, the Secretary-General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, was the next speaker who, while appreciating the continuous initiatives of the CCCACD, described the center’s role in highlighting the cultural richness of Asia and introducing the civilizational heritage and human capacities of the ancient continent as ‘strategic and influential’. He emphasized:
“The cultural initiatives taken by CCCACD, which is undoubtedly the most active of the six pillars of the ACD – not only help to foster mutual understanding and tolerance among nations, but also present a realistic and inspiring image of the concept of ‘One Asia’ to the world.”
Referring to culture, science, sports, and tourism as effective tools for building bridges between nations, the ACD Secretary General added: “The Asia Cooperation Dialogue always supports programs that, by relying on these capacities, deepen the cultural and social integration of ACD member states.”
