As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen cultural cooperation among the member states of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), Dr. Mohammad Jafari Malak, Chairman of the ACD Cultural Coordination Center (CCCACD), met with H.E. Mr. Ontalap S. Onalbayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in the presence of the Cultural Counsellor of the Embassy. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the Center’s mandate, activities and programmes, while emphasizing the important role of culture in fostering mutual understanding, closer people-to-people relations and stronger cooperation among Asian nations.
A key focus of the meeting was Kazakhstan’s potential participation in the CCCACD Online Education Platform, aimed at promoting and teaching the traditional arts and handicrafts of ACD member states, as well as its participation in the publication project featuring children’s stories from ACD member states. The discussions highlighted the importance of documenting and promoting Asia’s rich cultural heritage and facilitating the transmission of traditional knowledge and skills to younger generations. H.E. the Ambassador welcomed these initiatives and stated that the proposals would be conveyed to the relevant authorities in the capital for further consideration and follow-up.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on maintaining regular communication and further expanding cultural cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and CCCACD. As a gesture of friendship and cultural appreciation, a fine calligraphy artwork by Dr. Tandis Taghavi, Cultural and Arts Ambassador of CCCACD, was presented to H.E. the Ambassador.
