Dr. Mohammad Jafari Malak, the Chairman of the Cultural Coordination Center of ACD, accompanied by Dr. Ms. Taghavi, the calligraphic artist and the art representative of CCCACD, met with His Excellency Roy Soemirat, the honorable ambassador of Indonesia to Iran.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Jafari Malek presented a report on the center’s cultural activities and programs and emphasized the importance of expanding cultural and artistic cooperation among the member states of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD).

Thereafter, while introducing the center’s educational projects in the arts and crafts, Dr. Taghavi expressed hope that cooperation with Indonesia, especially in online education of traditional Asian arts, would create new avenues for cultural exchange. She also highlighted the prominent role of Batik art in Indonesia’s cultural identity and emphasized the need to jointly introduce this valuable heritage at the Asian level.

His Excellency Roy Soemirat, too, while appreciating the activities of the Cultural Coordination Center of ACD, emphasized his country’s readiness to attend and participate in the cultural programs of the center. He also made remarks about the history, aesthetics, and the place of this traditional art in Indonesian culture, noting that the day of the meeting coincided with the National Day of Indonesian Batik Fabrics.
